The Bennington Center for the Arts brings fine art to the residents and visitors of Southern Vermont. Past Special Guest Artists for Art of the Animal Kingdom, our annual wildlife art show include Carl Brenders, Jan Martin McGuire, Michael Coleman, Sandy Scott, Nancy Howe, Bob Kuhn and Daniel Smith. Some of the many other artists that have or are currently on display and for sale include Kenn Backhaus, Kevin Macpherson, Huihan Liu, Richard Schmid, Tim Thies, John Swatsley, T.M. Nicholas and John Seerey-Lester.

Shows at the Center include or have included Art of the Animal Kingdom, Impressions of New England, American Artists Abroad, Art of the Native American, Plein Air Painters of America, American Academy of Women Artists, Arts for the Parks, Society of Animal Artists and the American Watercolor Society.

Most work in the fine art galleries is for sale.

The Covered Bridge Museum at the Center offers exhibits on the history of covered bridges in Vermont. Discover the history and legends of these wonderful structures in the world's only museum dedicated to their covered bridge preservation. Explore the exhibits on engineering, construction, tools, and creators. Build and test your own bridge designs on the computer work stations after viewing two video theatre productions on the past and present construction techniques and uses of covered bridges. A working model railroad shows the six Vermont railroad bridges while the museum's interactive kiosk is available to plan your own tour of Vermont's remaining covered bridges, five of which are nearby. Marvel at the art and analysis of covered bridges by famous artist, Eric Sloane before browsing in the museum shop.
